We could make it so, in lore, the Senate is a much larger body than the 7 players, and just say each player Senator is one of influence and power.  Then when a bill is brought up, those active senators can support or oppose it, and that would sway the much larger body of NPC Senators (IE me).

I believe this was actually the original OOC proposal in the constitution thread, or at least brought up. I definitely think it's a good idea. Makes it feel like there's actual parties involved.

I agree, but it would be a good idea to divide the NPC Senate into Parties spearheaded by a player (or completely NPC if noone of said party is a Senator) and independent factions loyal to independent Senators. Of course there would be swing votes etc.

Yeah that seems the best way to implement it and it would represent a normal government.

In that case, I shall formally call upon Senators to decide what Party they support and post so here so I can organize the Senate.

I like this form the best. Go for it.

Will the parties overall power be tied to the amount of active players associated with it? Or could a party gain momentum with NPC senators regardless of the player count
